UCSD's Jamie Katuna Named CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

SAN RAMON – UC San Diego senior Jamie Katuna was selected the California Collegiate Athletic Assocaition Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 3.

Katuna, a guard from Longmont, Colorado was outstanding offensively, averaging 32.5 points and 4.5 assists in the Tritons wins over Humboldt State and Cal Poly Pomona this past weekend. 

She dropped 29 points and grabbed six rebounds in Friday's 85-73 win over the Lumberjacks.

Katuna eclipsed that performance the following day, scoring a career-high 36 points on 57-percent 12-for-21) shooting from the floor, which included three of six shots made from three point range, and 90-percent (9-for-10) from the free throw line. She also totaled five boards and seven assists to lead UCSD in its 14-point triumph over the Broncos. 

On the weekend, Katuna totaled 65 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
