TORONTO, Ontario -- Former Toro All-American Kevin Pillar is scheduled to make his Major League Baseball debut tonight as the Toronto Blue Jays host the Boston Red Sox in the Rogers Centre, with first pitch scheduled for 4:07 pm PST.

Pillar, who was promoted to the Blue Jays Triple-A organization and has hit .303 with .341 OB and .493 SLG percentages totaling a robust .834 OPS, was called up this morning and will land in Toronto later today.

Projected to start in left field, Pillar will replace Colby Rasmus, whose injured oblique muscle may require a stint on the 15-day disabled list.  Rasmus missed his second-consecutive game last night after taking off in July by hitting .331 with four home runs, 14 doubles and 22 RBI while posting an .899 OPS over 36 games.

Currently at 54-65 in the American League East and having lost three-straight, the Blue Jays host the team with the best record in the American League in the Boston Red Sox, who sit four games in front of the Tampa Bay Rays and 17 ahead of Toronto.

The game will be shown on NESN.com, the home of the Boston sports scene, with Gladstone's in Long Beach airing the game as well (subject to BLACKOUT).
