2015 All-CCAA Men’s Basketball Team Announced

WALNUT CREEK — No 2-seeded Cal Poly Pomona placed four players, including Most Valuable Player Terrence Drisdom, on the 2014 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) team it was announced on Wednesday at the CCAA pre-Championship banquet. 

Joining Drisdom on the First team was junior forward Jordan Faison while Barry Bell and Daniel Rodriguez were named to the Second team and received honorable mention, respectively.

Humboldt State and regular-season Conference Champion Chico State also named two to the First team. Representing the Lumberjacks were seniors Austin Bryan and Allan Guei. Malik Morgan of HSU earned Second team honors, while Rakim Brown received honorable mention.

Wildcats' Jordan Semple earned himself First team honors for the second-straight year after leading the Conference defensively with 9.5 rebounds and 30 total blocks. He was joined by sophomore guard Robert Duncan, while Tanner Giddings snagged Second team honors.

Rounding out the First team selections were Sonoma State guard James Davis, Cal State Stanislaus guard Chris Read, Cal State San Bernardino guard Jacob Thomas, and San Francisco State forward Udun Osakue.

Coyote’s Thomas was tabbed Newcomer of the Year, Malik Morgan of Humboldt State earned Freshman of the Year, and Chico State’s Greg Clink was named Coach of the Year.

Drisdom, a guard from Corona, had an outstanding final season with the Broncos’ program, scoring double-digits in all-but-one contest this season. He ranked first among all Conference players with 348 points, 54 steals, and 125 made shots, while also ranking among the top five in points per game (15.8) and free throws made (80).

A junior transfer from Howard College in Texas, Thomas was outstanding in his debut season with the Coyotes, as he averaged a Conference-best 17.4 points per game. The guard also averaged 3.2 rebounds and totaled 52 assists, 37 steals.

HSU’s Malik Morgan wrapped up his rookie season with averages of 11.4 points and 2.7 rebounds, and a team-best 4,2 assists..

Chico State head coach Greg Clink coaches his team to its second CCAA regular-season title in three years and its sixth-consecutive Conference Tournament appearance with a record of 18-4. In his seven years with the Wildcats’ program, Clink has improved his record to 128-78.
