Toros' Vincent Golson Named CCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

SAN RAMON – Cal State Dominguez Hills junior Vincent Golson was selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 11-17.

The guard from Oakland helped the Toros to an outstanding 2-0 weekend, which included wins over two of the CCAA's top squads -- Humboldt State and No. 5 nationally-ranked Cal Poly Pomona.

Golson led the week off with a career-high 26 points, while dishing out seven assists and pulling down six rebounds in Dominguez Hills' overtime victory against the Lumberjacks. 

The following night, Golson went off once again, hitting eight-of-13 shots from the floor, including three from three point range, and 11-of-12 attempts from thre free throw line for 24 points. Golson also contributed three rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the Toros first victory over the Broncos since the 2011-12 season.

On the weekend, Golson averaged 24.5 points, 5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds.
