Tritons' Farrah Shokoor Earns Third CCAA Player of the Week Nod
SAN RAMON – UC San Diego senior Farrah Shokoor has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading the Tritons in their 2-0 road sweep of Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay last weekend.
Shokoor had outstanding numbers on the week, averaging 20.5 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 assists.
The forward from San Diego totaled 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead UCSD to a narrow 56-54 victory over the Pioneers, who were previously undefeated in CCAA play.
The following night in Seaside, Shokoor scored 24 points on five-for-12 shooting from the floor and 14-for-20 shooting from the free throw line, while also matching her season high of 19 rebounds. She also recorded four blocks in the 67-57 against the Otters.
Overall, Shokoor finished 11-for-22 from the floor and 18-for-25 from the free throw line, while also totaling 30 rebounds, six blocks, three steals, and three assists.
