SAN RAMON – Chico State junior William Reyes was the eighth-straight Wildcat to earn Most Valuable Runner honors after finishing first at the 2015 California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Cross Country Championships Sunday at Golden Gate Park.

Reyes, who claimed first on the same course just two weeks ago at the SF State-hosted Gator Invite, ran the eight-kilometer race in 24 minutes, 13.6 seconds, topping his previous course time by more than 21 seconds.

His margin of victory of 15.6 seconds was the largest since Vicente Moreno of Stanislaus State won the race in 2007 by 19.5 seconds.

Reyes along with teammates Steven Martinez (2nd), Nicholas Valenzuela (6th), Arturo Arevalo (7th), and Aaron Mora (8th) contributed to the Wildcats 24 point team victory.
