For more than two decades, Larry Reynolds stood among the most respected and successful leaders in CCAA men's basketball, building championship programs, mentoring generations of student-athletes, and leaving a lasting impact on the conference at both Cal State San Bernardino and Stanislaus State.
 
A standout student-athlete before embarking on his coaching career, Reynolds earned All-America honors at UC Riverside and helped lead the Highlanders to national prominence. The lessons he learned as a student-athlete laid the foundation for a coaching career that spanned more than 30 years and established him as one of the most accomplished figures in West Region basketball.
 
Reynolds first made his mark in the CCAA as head coach at Cal State San Bernardino from 1997-2002. Under his leadership, the Coyotes emerged as a regional powerhouse, capturing three CCAA championships, advancing to four NCAA West Regional Championship games, and earning two trips to the NCAA Elite Eight. His teams consistently competed among the nation's best, helping elevate both the program and the conference on the national stage.
 
After serving as head coach at UC Riverside and later Long Beach State, Reynolds returned to the CCAA in 2009 to lead Stanislaus State. Once again, he built a championship contender, guiding the Warriors to four CCAA Tournament appearances, the 2013-14 CCAA championship and to the NCAA West Regional finals. His ability to develop talent, foster accountability, and create winning cultures resulted in sustained success at two conference institutions separated by more than a decade.
 
Over the course of his distinguished career, Reynolds earned four consecutive CCAA Coach of the Year awards (1999-02) and amassed more than 500 coaching victories. In 2002, he guided CSUSB to the Elite Eight and finished with a 28-2 record. While championships and accolades became hallmarks of his teams, he was equally respected for his commitment to student-athlete development and his reputation as a teacher, mentor, and leader. Former players and colleagues consistently praised his ability to inspire those around him and prepare young men for success both on and off the court.
 
Few coaches have shaped CCAA men's basketball as profoundly as Reynolds. Through his championship success, unwavering leadership, and dedication to the student-athlete experience, he established a legacy that continues to resonate throughout the conference and secured his place among the most influential coaches in CCAA history.
