Tyler Durna Award Player of the Week Week Of 2/11/2018 Sport Baseball School UC San Diego Year Position Hometown High School SAN RAMON, Calif. — UC San Diego's Tyler Durna impressed on the diamond to earn California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player and Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 5-11 The junior first baseman started 2018 effectively where he left off in 2017, hitting .524 and slugging .810 with a .615 on-base percentage, all team bests, in leading No. 7 UC San Diego to a 4-1 record. He shared the team high with seven runs and 17 total bases, led the squad with 11 hits, and was second with 10 RBI. Durna walked five times without striking out once, and handled all 38 defensive chances cleanly. The Chino Hills junior blasted a two-run home run in Thursday's opener at Concordia knotted the game the third, as he finished the game 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBI. He reached base at least twice in all five of the week’s contests. The Tritons play host to San Francisco State this weekend to open the CCAA slate.
