SAN RAMON, Calif. — With the first week of action in the books for many squads, Sonoma State’s Joshua Lenney made an impressive debut to earn California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Jan. 29 - Feb. 4.

Lenney, a junior transfer from Santa Rosa JC, helped the Seawolves to a weekend sweep of Holy Names. Lenney went 4-for-9 in the three-game series, hitting home runs in back-to-back contests to start the season, and drove in seven in the series. The third baseman also scored four times and totaled 11 bases.

Lenney's most outstanding performance came in the Seawolves' home opener in which he went 2-for-2 with a double and a home run, driving in five. Lenney touts a .444/.500/1.222 slash line to start the season.

Next up, Sonoma State travels to Fresno Pacific this weekend for three games on Friday and Saturday. Then, the Seawolves have two weekends off before opening CCAA play against Chico State Feb. 23-25.
