Cal State San Bernardino (8-2-5, 3-1-3) goalkeeper Donovan Palomares has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring the Coyotes’ defense to a scoreless draw and a clean sheet victory.

Palomares recorded back-to-back shutouts and led the Coyotes’ defense across two matches at Premier Field.

In Friday’s matchup, Palomares finished with three saves in the 0-0 draw against Cal State East Bay, turning aside all second-half attempts to secure his first of two clean sheets on the week.

Palomares followed with another standout performance on Sunday’s Senior Day, blanking Cal State San Marcos in a 3-0 victory. Palomares finished with three saves, including two in the closing minutes, to secure his second straight shutout in the 3-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos.

Palomares continues to rank among the top goalkeepers in the CCAA, sitting fifth in goals-against average (1.10), fourth in shutouts per game (0.20), and sixth in save percentage (0.725).
