Cal State Monterey Bay’s Max Farfan has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week for the week of April 7-13.
The senior infielder had a great weekend at the plate, smashing three home runs, including a grand slam to help lead the Otters to a series sweep over Cal State LA and move into a tie for second place with the Golden Eagles. Farfan recorded nine RBIs, scored four runs, and posted a 1.200 slugging percentage. He had an extra base hit in every game, and recorded multiple hits in three contests. He also had multiple RBI in three of four games and scored a run every game.
In the opener, Farfan went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a 4-2 win. He then helped the Otters win two one-run games on Saturday as he combined to go 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored. The Salinas native capped off the series by going 2-for-5 with a grand slam as CSUMB finished the sweep with a 12-6 win.
The three home run weekend moved Farfan into a tie for ninth in the CCAA (7). He is also ninth in walks (19).
