Cal State San Bernardino’s Daryl Ruiz has been voted as the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 17-23.
Ruiz hit .563 with a .588 on-base percentage and a 1.125 slugging average on the road at Cal State East Bay. He went 9-for-16 with three doubles, two home runs, and seven runs batted in. Ruiz did not strike out all weekend while scoring five runs.
The first baseman had hits in all four games of the series and drove in runs in three of them. He opened the series by going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Ruiz saved his best for last as he went 4-for-5 in the finale with a double, a home run, and four RBI.
Ruiz is tied for the CCAA lead in batting average (.433) and ranks first in on-base (.544) and slugging percentages (.817). He is pacing the conference in RBI (47) and tied for third in home runs (9).
