Cal State San Bernardino’s Jacob Mejia was named the FloCollege/CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16.
Mejia hit .600 as the Coyotes swept a three-game series from Central Washington and outscored their West Region foe 62-23. Mejia went 6-for-10 with four walks, a double, two home runs, 11 runs batted in, and four runs scored.
He collected hits in all three games, including three hits in the opener. However, his best game was the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday, as he drove in a CCAA season-best seven runs. He had an RBI groundout in the first inning and added RBI in the third and fourth before breaking the game open with a three-run homer in the fifth. He closed the series with another three-run home run and four RBI.
