Cal State Monterey Bay’s Nico Hartojo continues to be one of top hitters in the conference as he has picked up his second Baseball Player of the Week award.
Hartojo batted .419 (6-for-14) last weekend to lead the CSUMB Otters to a regular season title. The junior infielder belted two homers and drove in six runs and scored four times to lead the Otters offense. He posted a .857 slugging percentage and was on base in 50 percent of his plate appearances.
Hartojo’s best game last weekend was the regular season finale when he went 4-for-6 with a home run (his 10th). He scored three times and drove in three in the win against Cal State San Marcos.
The Arvada, Colo., native also made his first collegiate appearance at shortstop by answering the bell with nine assists and just one error.
