Nate Rohlicek of Cal State Monterey Bay threw a two-hit shutout to earn the season’s final CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week award.
Rohlicek tossed a seven-inning, two-hit complete game shutout on Friday to lead the Otters to clinch the regular season title with a 2-0 win over Cal State San Marcos. Rohlicek gave up just two singles with seven strikeouts without a walk and was perfect through five innings. He retired the first 16 batters he faced before allowing a single in the sixth inning.
The junior right-hander from Gilbert, Ariz., improved to 6-0 after winning six straight starts. He took no decision in his first six outings of the season. His ERA is now at 3.77 and leads the Otters with 54 strikeouts.
