Southpaw Isaac Mullins turned in a stellar performance to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills, earning him this week’s CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week award.
Mullins, a senior from North Bend, Wash., threw 7.2 innings of shutout baseball in the Toros’ 8-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday. He gave up just four hits in the outing and walked three batters. Mullins improved to 4-0 on the season.
After getting out a bases loaded jam via free passes in the second, Mullins retired eight of the next nine batters, allowing a baserunner due to a fielding error. The Yotes collected their first hit off Mullins with two outs in the fifth inning.
Mullins is second in the CCAA with a 2.41 ERA, behind only Cal Poly Pomona’s Will Rudy (1.77).
