Sonoma State's Bourelle Swings Way to First CCAA Golfer of the Week Sep 19, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. – After earning team and individual titles in his first time suiting up for Sonoma State, Blake Bourelle picked up CCAA Golfer of the Week honors for Sept. 11-18. Bourelle, a junior who joined the Seawolves from Taft College, where he was named the 2018 Player of the Year in the Central Valley Conference and 2018 NorCal Regional individual champion. The Stockdale native rolled a 67-70-71–208 at the Sonoma State Men’s Invite to take medalist honors and help the Seawolves to the team title. Bourelle’s eight-under total bested his closest competitor, Matt Fry of Dominican, by two strokes as he claimed a wire-to-wire win in his first competition at the NCAA Division II level. As a team, the Seawolves combined for a one-under-par 863 performance in the 54-hole tournament, outpacing Holy Names by four strokes for top honors. The Seawolves return to action Oct. 15-16 at Dixie State's Regional Preview at Sand Hollow Resort in Hurricane, Utah.
