Cal State San Bernardino's Ortiz Selected as CCAA Player of the Week Sep 18, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. –– After helping his team to a pair of non-conference victories, Cal State San Bernardino’s Danny Ortiz notched CCAA Player of the Week accolades for Sept. 10-16. The senior from El Paso, Texas, was involved in seven of the eight goals scored on the week. In a 4-1 victory against Notre Dame de Namur, he scored two goals and added an assist.Ortiz folowed it up Saturday with another goal as he assisted on the other three scoring plays for the Coyotes in a 4-0 shutout against Concordia-Irvine. Of his four shots on goal in the week, Ortiz connected on three en route to weekly honors. The Coyotes open their CCAA slate this week, hosting Cal Poly Pomona Wednesday at 3 p.m., followed by an afternoon matchup against San Francisco State on Saturday.
