CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Combining consistency with late-game dramatics at the plate, designated player Amanda Flores posted her most productive numbers of the year to lead Chico State to a series sweep of San Francisco State and help the Wildcats extend their current winning streak to 22 games.

The junior from Fullerton hit safely in all four contests, batting .500 (7-for-14) with nine runs batted in, a .929 slugging percentage and a .553 on-base percentage. Flores racked up four extra-base hits, including an electrifying two-out grand slam in the seventh inning of Friday’s doubleheader nightcap to tie the game at six-apiece. She then provided the game-winner with a two-run double in the ninth inning as Chico State posted the come-from-behind 10-6 victory.

Flores currently is third in the conference batting race, hitting .389 on the year as the Wildcats take the No. 1 seed into the CCAA Championship Tournament. Chico State will face Cal State San Bernardino in the tournament’s opening game Friday at 5 p.m. Championship Central >>>
