CCAA's Top Teams Represented with Softball Weekly Awards Apr 17, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Karli Skowrup helped Chico State continue its winning ways and UC San Diego’s Robyn Wampler helped the Tritons to both wins over the weekend as the pair earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player and Pitcher of the Week for April 10-15. CCAA Softball Player of the Week Karli Skowrup, a senior from Thousand Oaks, Calif., was Chico State’s top run producer as the CCAA-leading Wildcats swept a four-game series against Sonoma State, running the team’s current winning streak to 14. Skowrup batted an even .500 in the series (5-for-10), belting a home run and driving in seven while posting an .800 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage. Friday Skowrup contributed a run-scoring single in the Wildcats’ 5-2 series-opening win, then went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the nightcap as Chico State outslugged the Seawolves 11-7. In Saturday’s doubleheader, Skowrup blasted a three-run homer to lead the Wildcats to a 6-2 victory, and then knocked in one of Chico State’s two runs with a sacrifice fly in the series finale against the No. 18 Seawolves. Skowrup currently is the CCAA’s RBI leader (47) while ranking third in home runs (10) and fourth in slugging percentage (.656).
