SAN RAMON, Calif. — After winning her second tournament title in her last three tries, Cal State San Marcos golfer Jaime Jacob has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golfer of the Week for Feb. 28-March 6.

This is the second Golfer of the Week honor for the sophomore from Encinitas, who also earned recognition for the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 6. Jacob is the third Cougar to earn acclaim this season, as Cal State San Marcos golfers have been tapped for honors five times in 2017-18.

Jacob took top medalist honors at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay, firing rounds of 76 and 71 to compile a final score of 3-over 147. She led the field in par 5 scoring (E), and finished second on par 3's (E). Jacob’s one-stroke win propelled the Cougars to third in the team standings.

Next up for Cal State San Marcos is the Augustana Spring Fling on March 15-16 at The Classic Club in Palm Desert.
