SAN RAMON, Calif. — After leading Cal State East Bay to its best team finish of the season and an individual runner-up performance, Greg Smith has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golfer of the Week for March 21-27.

Smith, a junior from Egham, England, carded a 54-hole total of 213 (-3) at the 68th Annual SoCal Intercollegiate hosted by UC San Diego to take second in the field. His 6-under 67 on Tuesday was the second-lowest round of the tournament, Smith’s lowest round of the season.

He led Cal State East Bay to third place in the team standings, their highest finish of 2017-18. The Pioneers were the top finishers of the seven CCAA squads in competition at Carlton Oaks GC.

Next, Cal State East Bay competes at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational in Turlock April 2-3.
