Macadangdang, Gilham Earn CCAA Softball Recognition Mar 13, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — Keeping their squads at the top of the league standings, Sonoma State slugger Karly Macadangdang and and Chico State hurler Haley Gilham have been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for March 5-13. CCAA Softball Player of the Week Sonoma State senior first baseman Karly Macadangdang powered the No. 15 Seawolves to a 3-1 weekend over Cal State San Marcos en route to earning weekly conference honors. A native of Mililani, Hawaii, Macadangdang finished the weekend going 8-for-12 (.667) from the plate with two home runs, two walks, seven RBI, two stolen bases and five runs scored in the four-game series, She compiled a 1.167 slugging percentage and a .765 on-base percentage in the series to help move the Seawolves to 17-7 (13-5 CCAA) on the year. Non-conference action is next for Sonoma State. The Seawolves host a double-header against Pace on Wednesday, weather permitting, before a weekend on the diamond in Turlock March 22-25 with seven games on the docket. The Norco native tossed the first no-hitter of her Chico State career and came through as both a starter and reliever to help lead the Wildcats to a 5-1 week. The no-no, recorded Friday in the Wildcats' series opener against Cal State Monterey Bay, highlighted a week that saw Gilham twirl two shutouts and earn a save while posting a 1.27 earned run average. She allowed just 13 hits and struck out 19 batters in 22 innings or work, holding opponents to a .169 batting average. After fanning 10 Monterey Bay batters while holding the Otters hitless in Friday's 4-0 victory, Gilham came back Saturday to shut out Monterey Bay, scattering three hits in a 7-0 win. In the doubleheader nightcap, Gilham appeared in relief and retired all four batters she faced to earn the save as Chico State completed the series sweep with a 7-5 victory. Gilham currently leads all CCAA pitchers in ERA (1.04), complete games (11), shutouts (7), strikeouts (77) and opponent batting average (.156).
