SAN RAMON, Calif. – After concluding the regular-season slate on Saturday night, the field for the 2017-18 CCAA Men’s Basketball Championship has been determined. Regular-season champion Cal Poly Pomona leads the eight league squads advancing to the postseason.

The Broncos sit atop the brackets after finishing off conference play with an 18-4 mark against CCAA foes, including a five-game streak to cap the year, and a 21-5 overall record. Cal Poly Pomona will host the No. 8 seed Cal State Dominguez Hills in the first round of action. The Broncos will be hoping to advance to their 10th semifinals in the last 11 years, with a bit of extra motivation to get to the championship tournament final site – their home gym.

After holding on in the season finale at Sonoma State, the No. 2 seed belongs to Chico State. The Wildcats will host No. 7 Cal State San Bernardino on Tuesday, and Chico State will look for their third win of the season over the Coyotes.

The No. 3 in the brackets is UC San Diego, who earns the tiebreaker over No. 4 Cal State San Marcos by virtue of two Tritons’ wins in the regular season. UC San Diego will take on the No. 6 seed Stanislaus State in part of a first-round doubleheader at RIMAC Arena. The Warriors and Tritons split the season series with each team’s win coming on their opponent’s home floor. In the last meeting between the two, Stanislaus State pulled away in overtime for a 10-point victory in La Jolla. The Tritons are defending regular-season and tournament champions whereas Stanislaus State is back in the post-season mix after a two-year hiatus.

Finally, Cal State San Marcos will welcome No. 5 San Francisco State, and the Cougars will be vying for their third win of the year against the Gators after sweeping the regular-season series. Meanwhile, San Francisco State will look to advance from the bottom half of the bracket to make it back to its second-straight tournament finals. The last No. 5 seed to see the semifinal round were the 2011 Cal Poly Pomona Broncos.

The winners of each of the four quarterfinals will converge on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona for the final two rounds of the conference championship, with the eventual victor earning the CCAA’s automatic bid into the NCAA championship field. Tickets will be available at the Kellogg Arena box office on gamedays, and general admission seating is $10. Students with a valid ID, seniors, members of the military and youth can purchase tickets for $5.
