Rohrer, Monahan Named CCAA Player and Pitcher of the Week Feb 13, 2018 SAN RAMON, Calif. — After an offensive display from the plate and a no hitter from the circle, San Francisco State’s Katie Rohrer and Naomi Monahan of Chico State have been named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player and Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 5-11. CCAA Softball Player of the Week Rohrer hit .769 (10-of-13) over the weekend as the Gators took three-of-four from hosts Cal State San Marcos to open up their CCAA slate. The sophomore catcher from Rohnert Park scored 10 runs while batting in four, and smacked her second home run of the season in the series finale. The Gators continue CCAA play this weekend, hosting a four-game series with Cal State San Bernardino. The action starts Friday at noon. All told, Monahan allowed just three runs and seven hits while striking out 11 and walking only one in 13 innings of work, helping No. 21 Chico State improve to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in CCAA play. In game two of Friday's series-opening doubleheader, Monahan logged six innings of relief and struck out six to earn the win. She saved her best for Saturday's series finale-Monahan allowed just a third inning walk, struck out five, and retired the last 13 San Bernardino hitters she faced to lead the Wildcats to an 8-0 win to sweep the four-game set, while recording Chico State's first seven inning no-hitter since 2013. Chico State will now enjoy an eight-game homestand. This weekend, the Wildcats host Cal State San Marcos for a four-game series, and then welcome Cal State East Bay for four to close out the month. Friday’s first pitch against the Cougars is slated for noon.
