Kelley Sullivan Earns CCAA Men's Golfer of the Week Accolade
SAN RAMON, Calif. - Chico State junior
Kelley Sullivan has earned the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 14 through Sept. 20.
Sullivan opened his senior season with a victory at the Sonoma State Invitational at Fountaingrove Golf Club in Santa Rosa this week.
Sullivan finished 1-over par with rounds of 71-73-73, besting his teammate, Colby Dean, by one shot, and lead the Wildcats to a 17-shot victory over runner-up Sonoma State.
It marked the second tournament victory of Sullivan's collegiate career. Sullivan's opening-round 71 was one of only four sub-par rounds on the challenging par-72, 6,940 yard layout. The average score of the tournament's three rounds was 80.53.
The Wildcats return to action on Oct. 9 when they host the Interwest Wildcat Classic in Corning.
