Adam Vargas Selected as CCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. - Cal State Dominguez Hills junior
Adam Vargas has earned the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 11 through Sept. 16.
With a pair of impressive performances, Vargas lifted the Toros to a pair of road victories during the first week of conference play. On Friday in a 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona, Vargas scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute as CSUDH topped the nationally-ranked Broncos. Then on Sunday, the Toros defeated Cal State San Bernardino 3-1 as Vargas collected the final goal of the match in the 85th minute.
A Chula Vista native, Vargas transferred to the CSUDH program from Southwestern College. So far this season, he has five points and 454 minutes played. This Friday, the Toros will host UC San Diego at 4:30 p.m.
