Sergi Monso Repeats as CCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week

SAN RAMON, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona senior Sergi Monso has earned the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 4 through Sept. 10.

It marks the second-consecutive week that Monso has received the accolade. Last week, the Barcelona, Spain, native totaled four goals in three games. CPP topped Fresno Pacific Tuesday and Montana State Billings Friday before falling to Simon Fraser on Sunday.

So far this season, Monso owns a sizeable lead in the CCAA points category. He has tallied 23 points with eight goals and seven assists. The Broncos hold an overall record of 4-1 heading into the start of CCAA play.

This week, CPP hosts Cal State Dominguez Hills (3-1) Friday and Cal State LA (4-0) on Sunday. The matchup between the Broncos and Golden Eagles is the CCAA Game of the Week.
