CSUMB's Hayley Fein and CSUEB's Sarah Fukushima Named CCAA Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Cal State Monterey Bay freshman Hayley Fein and Cal State East Bay freshman Sarah Fukushima were named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Apr. 10-16.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Fein, a hurler from Sparks, Nev. went 5-0 and earned her second save of the season in the Otters 6-0 week, which included a midweek doubleheader sweep of Stanislaus State and a four-game weekend sweep at San Francisco State.
Fein, only the third pitcher in CSUMB history to earn 20 wins, allowed just 16 hits, eight walks and two earned runs, while fanning 23 batters in 27 innings pitched.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Fukushima had another big weekend with the bat, helping the Pioneers earn a split in thier four-game series against a stellar Sonoma State squad.
The first baseman from Sacramento recorded a hit in all four games, finishing five-for-nine (.556) with two doubles, four runs scored, four RBI and her league-leading 13th home run of the season. She was also walked four times in her 13 total plate appearances for an on-base percentage of .692.
Defensively, Fukushima had 22 putouts and one assist in 23 total chances.
