Wildcats' Colby Dean Wins Hanny Stanislaus Invite, Named CCAA Golfer of the Week
SAN RAMON – Chico State junior Colby Dean earned his second California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Gofler of the Week nod this spring after earning his first collegiate victory at the 44th-Annual Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at Turlock Golf and Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Dean claimed individual medalist honors in dominant fashion, shooting an eight-under par 222 (68-68-72) to finish five strokes ahead of Holy Names' Matt Thomas, who was the only other player in the 84-team field to break par.
Dean drained an eagle and 12 birdies over the two day, 54 hole event to lead the Wildcats to a second place team finish (875, +12).
