Chico State's Haley Gilham and Cal State San Marcos' Gabriela Arizaga Tabbed CCAA Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Chico State junior Haley Gilham and Cal State San Marcos freshman Gabriela Arizaga were selected the California Collegiate Athletic Assocaition Softball PItcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 27-Mar. 5.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Gilham kept her perfect season intact by racking up a pir of complete-game victories that led the Wildcats to a series sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills.
With an improved record of 7-0, the Norco native allowed just six hits, one walk and one earned run, while striking out 10 in 13 innings of work.
Giham kicked off the weekend with a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts. Then on Saturday she tossed seven innings, allowing four hits and an earned run with three strikeouts.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
A shortstop from Huntington Park, Arizaga went eight-for-15 (.533) from the plate with five RBI, five runs, three doubles and a home run as the Cougars won three of four in its homer series against Cal State East Bay.
Arizaga secured hits in all four games, with multiple hits in Friday's and Saturday's nightcap wins. Her weekend was highlighted by her performance in the series finale, when she hit four-for-four with three runs, three RBI, a double, a home run, a walk, and a stolen base.
