Cal State Monterey Bay's Elis Svard Earns First CCAA Golfer of the Week Award
SAN RAMON – Cal State Monterey Bay freshman Elis Svard snagged his first-ever California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Golfer of the Week award after snagging his first tournament victory at the CSUSM Fujikura Individual Tuesday afternoon.
Svard was the only player in a field of 79 golfers to finish below par, shooting a three round score of 215 (-1). Svard shot a career-low 67 in the first round, followed by two rounds of 74.
The Sodertalje, Sweden product also led the Otters to a team victory and the program's fifth top-five finish of the 2016-17 season.
