Chico State's Colby Dean Named CCAA Golfer of the Week
SAN RAMON – Chico State junior Colby Dean was tabbed the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of Feb. 8-14.
The Eagle, Idaho native carded a collegiate-best round of five-under par on the final day of the 2017 Visit Stockton Cactus Thaw Regional Championship Preview at Brookside Country Club en route to finishing in a tie for second, matching his best finish as a Wildcat.
Dean shot a seven-under par 137 overall to finish ahead of 120 other golfers and just one shot behind first place finisher -- Cal Baptist's Greg Gonzalez. Dean totaled 10 birdies and just three bogey's over 36 holes.
In addition, Dean led the Wildcat team to an outstanding 11-under par, third place finish.
