SAN RAMON, Calif. — Helping UC San Diego to an unblemished record in league action, Dalayna Sampton earned her second California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week nod in the 2017-18 campaign, taking top honors for the week of Dec. 11-17.

The senior from Vallejo beat the buzzer at the end of regulation to tie the contest with Cal State LA at 50 apiece to force the extra period. In the bonus time, the Tritons outscored the Golden Eagles 10-6 to run their CCAA record to 4-0 on the year.

Sampton finished the night providing nearly half of the UC San Diego offense with a career-high 27 points to go along with 14 rebounds. She is currently one of six women in the CCAA averaging a double-double on the year (14.2 ppg, 10.8 rpg).

UC San Diego travels to Cal State Dominguez Hills this afternoon for a 1:30 p.m. tip between the Tritons and the Toros. The meeting between two of the top three squads in the league standings marks the final game for both teams before the NCAA Winter Break.
