Sabrina Virtusio Gets CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week Nod
SAN RAMON, Calif. — After winning the Dixie State Fall Invitational, Sonoma State junior Sabrina Virtusio has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association women’s golfer of the week for Sept. 27-Oct.3.
Virtusio notched her first-career individual medalist honor with an even-par 144 at the Dixie State Fall Invitational at Sand Hollow Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah. Virtusio scored a tournament-best two-under-par 70 in Monday's opening round before carding a two-over 74 in Tuesday's second and final round en route to her three-shot victory over runner-up Katie Ford of host Dixie State.
Virtusio and the Seawolves continue the fall slate as hosts of the Sonoma State Fall Invitational at Santa Rosa’s Oakmont Golf Club Oct. 16-17.
