Chris Tuulik Named CCAA Men's Golfer of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. — Cal State San Marcos’ Chris Tuulik has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) men’s golfer of the week for Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
Tuulik, a senior from San Diego, tied for second overall and was the top finisher for Cal State San Marcos at 9-under 207 (69-68-70). Tuulik end just four strokes out of the top spot and carded 17 birdies in the three rounds of action.
Tuulik’s finish propelled the Cougars to the top of the leaderboard. Playing in their first tournament of the season, the men tied for first at the 20-team Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Estrella.
The team is back in action Oct. 9-10, playing in the Chico State-hosted Interwest Wildcat Classic at Butte Creek Golf Course.
