Daisy Duran Caps Regular Season with CCAA Player of the Week Award Oct 30, 2017 SAN RAMON, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona’s Daisy Duran helped extend her senior year with two goals in the season finale to earn the 2017 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Soccer Player of the Week nod for Oct. 23-29. The senior midfielder from San Dimas scored on both of her shot attempts in Friday’s 3-1 win over Cal State San Bernardino. The first score came after dribbling through a defender and sneaking the ball past a diving keeper from 12 yards out. She added another goal off a penalty shot, kicking into the bottom right corner to score her sixth goal of the season, setting a career high for goals in a season. With the win, the Broncos secured the sixth and final spot in the field of the 2017 CCAA Soccer Championship. Cal Poly Pomona travels to No. 3 Sonoma State on Tuesday at 1 p.m., with the victor advancing to the semifinal round on Friday in La Jolla.
