Jesus Ochoa Collects Two Shutouts En Route to CCAA Player of the Week Oct 30, 2017 SAN RAMON, Calif. - After two stalwart defensive efforts in the final week of the regular season, Cal State Monterey Bay goalkeeper Jesus Ochoa secured 2017 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for Oct. 23-29. It is the first weekly honor for the freshman goalkeeper from Modesto. Ochoa tossed his second and third shutouts of the season in the final week of action, leading the Otters to Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos. Then, Ochoa’s squad posted a scoreless tie with then CCAA-leading UC San Diego on Saturday in the season finale. With the two win, Ochoa ran his scoreless streak to 220 minutes after collecting eight saves for the Otters. The game marked the end of the 2017 campaign for Cal State Monterey Bay. The 2017 CCAA Men’s Soccer Championship will begin on Tuesday with two matches, as No. 3 seed UC San Diego hosts No. 6 San Francisco State and No. 5 Cal State LA travels to the No. 4 seed Chico State.
