San Francisco State's Tami Kwong Named CCAA Player of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. — San Francisco State freshman Tami Kwong scored a trio of goals over the weekend en route to being named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
Kwong scored three of the Gators' four goals and both game-winners in a 2-0 week for San Francisco State. The first-year collegian scored twice off the bench in Friday's 2-0 victory over Cal State East Bay, then notched the first goal of the day in Sunday's 2-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay.
In the week’s two contests, she compiled nine shots, six on goal, with three on target for San Francisco State to earn her first career CCAA Player of the Week honor.
Next up, the Gators take on UC San Diego on Oct. 6.
