Kyle Medina Nabs Second CCAA Runner of the Week Award
SAN RAMON, Calif. — After a runner-up individual finish over the weekend, Chico State’s Kyle Media has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Runner of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
The senior for the fourth-ranked Wildcats finished second overall as the first collegiate across the line at the Capital Cross Challenge at Haggin Oaks Golf Club on Saturday in Sacramento, leading Chico State to their second consecutive CCC team victory.
Medina finished behind former teammate turned professional Will Reyes and held off Cal Poly Pomona's Ruben Dominguez for second. He covered the eight-kilometer course in 24:12.1. This is the second Runner of the Week honor of the season for Medina, who also earned accolades for the week of Sept. 11-17.
