SAN RAMON, Calif - After playing to team and individual victories at the InterWest Wildcat Classic, Chico State’s Colby Dean can add California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golfer of the Week honors to his list of accolades for the week of Oct. 4-10.

Dean, a senior from Eagle, Idaho, shot a 67-70—137 at the Links at Rolling Hills to capture medalist honors and lead the Wildcats to the team title. At 7-under par, Dean finished one shot ahead of Cal State Monterey Bay's Ellis Svard to win the individual title. The win is Dean’s second as a Wildcat and the sixth top-10 finish of his career.

Chico State, which entered the week ranked No. 15 in the nation, finished two shots clear of 14th-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay for its second win in two events this season.

The Wildcats will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Otter Fall Invitational, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay, at Bayonet Golf Club in Seaside.
