SAN RAMON – Six California Collegiate Athletic Association baseball teams -- Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State San Bernardino, Chico State, UC San Diego -- will all travel to Stockton this next week for the 2016 Baseball Post-Season Tournament for the chance at winning the Conference's Championship Title and to earning an automatic berth to the NCAA West Region tournament.

The Conference Tournament will return to Banner Island Ballpark after a one year hiatus and takes on a new form than its start in 1999. The 2016 version will feature two additional teams for an increased field size of six teams, mirroring the format of the NCAA West Regional. Tournament play will begin Wednesday, May 11 with the Championship game scheduled for Saturday, May 14.

Cal Poly Pomona snagged the top seeded spot for the second-straight season after finishing CCAA play with a 26-11 record. With its win Sunday over Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay (21-16) snagged the top spot in the North standings, earning the No. 2 seed in this year's tournament. The Pioneers tied the Otters in regular-season play, but claimed the top standings spot after winning the head-to-head series record, 3-1.

The Otters (21-16) will play as the No. 3 seed, while UC San Diego (20-17) will be the No. 4 seed, Cal Stae San Bernardino (17-20) the No. 5 seed, and Chico State (20-17) the No. 6 seed.

First-round matchups will include cross-regional games between CPP and CHICO, CSUEB and CSUSB, as well as CSUMB and UCSD.
