LOS ANGELES – Chico State won both, the California Collegiate Atheltic Association men's and women's track and field Championships, Saturday at Jesse Owens Field on the campus of Cal State LA.

The Wildcat men snagged the Conference title with 246 points to finish ahead of UC San Diego (190 points), Stanislaus State (144 points), Cal Poly Pomona (88 points), Cal State LA (66 points), Humboldt State (61 points) and Cal State East Bay (20 points).

Chico State women collected 190 points, snagging its seventh-straight team victory and finishing ahead of UC San Diego (137.66 points), Stanislaus State (127 points), San Francisco State (106 points), Humboldt State (86.33 points), Cal Poly Pomona (71 points), Cal State LA (59 points), Cal State San Bernardino (22 points), Cal State Dominguez Hills (9 points), Cal State Monterey Bay (5 points) and Cal State East Bay (4 points).

Humboldt State won a Conference-best four major awards, which were awarded following competiton Saturday evening. On the women's side, Marissa McCay was the high-point winner, while Ariel Oliver was named the Newcomer of the Year and Field Athlete of the Meet. For the men, Kianti Gix was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year.

Also earning awards for the women was Cal State LA's J'Liyah Miles, who was named the Freshman of the Year, LA's Megan Thompson, who was Track Athlete of the Meet, and Chico State's Robert Nooney Jr., who earned his third-consecutive Coach of the Year nod.

Stanislaus State highlighted the men's awards with senior thrower Gary Randolph earning the high-point and Field Athlete of the Year awards and Abraham Alvarado earning Track Athlete of the Year. Chico State's Chirs Jaeger was the Freshman of the Year and Wildcat head coach Oliver Hanff was voted the Coach of the Year.
