Team History
UC San Diego’s men’s track and field team claimed the program’s first-ever team championship last season, ending Chico State’s 11-year streak. The Tritons outscored the Wildcats 216-213. On the women’s side, the Wildcats have won six straight; they scored 213.5 points last season to finish comfortably ahead of second-place Cal Poly Pomona (142). Prior to Chico’s five-straight victories, the Tritons were the Conference’s top squad for five consecutive years (2005-09). Cal State LA joins Chico State as the only other women’s program to win at least five CCAA Track and Field team titles.
