Humboldt State's Obbema and Holland Tabbed CCAA Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week
SAN RAMON – Humboldt State continues to shine offensively and in the circle, sweeping this week's California Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher and Player of the Week honors.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Obbema snagged her first Pitcher of the Week honor this season, throwing four-of-10 games played by the Lumberjacks last week.
On the week she finished 4-0 and compiled a 1.27 ERA as she helped guide HSU to wins series wins over Sonoma State and San Francisco State. She logged 33 innings and allowed just six earned runs on 28 hits, while striking out 30 batters.
Against the Seawolves, she tossed 14 innings and fanned 12. Then on Friday and Saturday she threw 19 total innings, including a season-high 12 innings and 19 strikeouts Friday afternoon versus the Gators. She also matched her career-best 11 strikeouts in Friday's extra-inning showdown.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Holland, a sophomore from Oakdale, had a record-breaking week as Humboldt State swept four-game series' against Sonoma State and San Francisco State to claim the CCAA Regular-Season title and took two non-Conference wins from Dominican (Calif.).
She hit .406 (13-for-32) with eight runs and five RBI, while also compiling a .525 on-base percentage with eight walks in a total of 43 plate appearances.
In addtion, Holland shattered the program record for stolen bases in a season, a mark previously held by Jamie Peterson since 1997. After swiping 10 bags on the week, Holland's single-season record of 62 now ranks second all-time in CCAA history behind former UC Riverside player Deanna Dresmond, who totaled 82 stolen bases in 1990.
