Lee Gearhart Tabbed CCAA Golfer of the Week for Third Time
SAN RAMON – Chico State senior Lee Gearhart was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week for the third time this season and second time in three weeks.
The senior from Roseville carded a two-over par 218 to earn co-medalist honors with CCAA-foe Cal State Dominguez Hills' Christopher Pham at the UC San Diego-hosted 66th Annual SoCal Intercollege Tuesday afternoon at Carlton Oaks Golf Club in Santee.
Gearhart shot rounds of 70-76-72 to lead the Wildcats to their fourth tournament title in eight events this year. The victory also marked Gearhart's third in his last four tournaments and the sixth of his career.
