Chico State's Haley Gilham and Desiree Gonzalez Earn CCAA Softball Pitcher & Player of the Week Honors
SAN RAMON – Chico State's Haley Gilham and Desiree Gonzalez were named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Pitcher and Player of the week for the week of Mar. 7-13.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Gilham, a sophomore from Norco, turned in an outstanding weekend in the pitcher's circle for Chico State, tallying three victories as the Wildcats swept a four-game set from Cal State San Bernardino.
In 16.1 innings of work, Gilham allowed just one run on 11 hits, and five walks, while striking out 11 Coyotes, holding the Southern California squad to a weekend average of .177
Her weekend was highlighted in the nightcap game on Friday as she twirled her first shutout of the season as Chico blanked San Bernardino, 2-0.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Gonzalez earned her second player of the week nod in three weeks after once again leading Chico State's offensive efforts.
The Fontana native batted .455 (five-for-11) and compiled an .818 slugging percentage with a double, home run, and five RBi in the Wildcats four-game sweep of Cal State San Bernardino this past weekend. Also on the weekend, Gonzalez posted a .667 on-base percentage with five hits, six walks, and one hit by pitch in 18 total plate appearances.
Twice, in the series opener and finale, Gonzalez finished two-for-three at the plate. She scored once in each game and recorded a combined five RBI.
