Chico State Snags First CCAA Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week Awards this Season
SAN RAMON – Chico State's Brooke Langeloh and Desiree Gonzalez led the Wildcats to a 3-1 weekend at UC San Diego en route to earning their first Calfiornia Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week awards, respectively, this season.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Langeloh went the distance in two victories against No. 17 UC San Diego. Against the CCAA's top hitting team, Langelohn allowed just one earned and six hits in 14 innings of work, while striking also striking out 12 to hold UCSD to a collective .122 average.
In Friday's series opener, the Escondido product came within one out of throwing a no-hitter, but settled for the complete-game 4-1 win after allowing a single and a double in the bottom of the seventh. Saturday, she scattered four hits, but snagged the complete game shutout by a 3-0 decision.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Gonzalez provided the bulk of Chico State's run production in the Wildcats three wins over No. 17 UCSD. She batted .462 (6-for-13), while posting a .563 on-base percentage and a .538 slugging percentage.
Gonzalez totaled scored once, walked three times, and drove in six of the Wildcats 10 runs in her 16 total plate appearances.
The Fontana native had two multiple hit games, going two-for-three with a run scored and two RBI in Friday's opener and then going three-for-three with two RBI and a double in Saturday's opener.
