UC San Diego's Brown and Maday Earn CCAA Softball Pitcher and Player of Week Honors
SAN RAMON – UC San Diego's Lauren Brown and Kelsi Maday were selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 1-7.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brown, a freshman from San Diego, pitched 10 innings in four contests and allowed just three hits and one run, while striking out seven.
Her week was highlighted in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Metro State and 3-2 win over Western Oregon. She pitched 3.1 innings of hitless ball for her first victory of the season against the roadrunners, followed by another 3.0 inning performance where she allowed just one hit.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Maday hit .583, while recording an identical on-base percentage and slugging percentage of .667 in the Tritons 5-1 weekend.
The outfielder from Napa recorded 10 hits, seven runs, six RBI and three stolen bases over six games. She was instrumental in UCSD's 7-2 win over Metro State on Friday as she finished two-for-three with two runs scored and an RBI.
Overall, she had four mulitiple hit games and recorded a hit in all six contest, while defensivley only committing two errors in 11 total chances.
