Pioneers' Owen Hutchison Earns CCAA Golfer of the Week Award
SAN RAMON – Cal State East Bay junior led the Pioneers to a second-team place finish at the Cal State San Bernardino-hosted Coyote Classic en route to earning his first California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week nod.
East Bay finished runner-up to CCAA-foe Sonoma State with a score of 870 (+18) on the Par-71 Arrowhead Country Club Course.
Individually, Hutchison was second after shooting a four-under par 209, finishing just two strokes behind Dixie State's Dane Nelson. The San Jose native shot two rounds in the 60's, including a field low of 65 in the second round, and a 69 to close out the event on Tuesday afternoon.
Hutchison led all players with 16 total birdies and ranked third in Par 3 and Par 4 scoring.
